RING 4b:
Equality
Ring 4b explores the importance of the Paralympic value of equality. Students will learn about the portrayal of Paralympians and the inequalities that 15% of the world’s population face. We move on to Women in Sport and the drive to closing the gender gap in sports participation. We look at inequalities and barriers that exist due to a person’s sexual orientation , gender and socio-economics. We then pivot to how the fight for social justice and other political causes have shown up in sports and debate the role of the sports platform. We end the ring with a quiz on social justice terminology.
Activities include: Class discussion, videos, research, debate, and a quiz.
